Separatists, civil society mourns Amanullah Khan’s demise

The various separatist leaders on Tuesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of founder member of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and prayed for the peace to the departed soul.
JKLF founder Amanullah Khan passed away at Rawalpindi in Pakistan on Tuesday morning after illness. He was 84.
Khan passed away this morning at a hospital around 8:30. The deceased was the co-founder of the Kashmir Independent Committee in 1963. 
He was elected Secretary General of JK Plebiscite Front (PF) in 1965 and Co-founded the JK National Liberation Front (NLF) with Maqbool Bhat.
Khan is the father-in-law of Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone.
Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed heartfelt grief over the demise of Amanullah Khan saying “we got deprived of a great leader of the freedom movement.”
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah while paying tributes to the deceased said Amanullah Khan throughout his life fought for the freedom and honour and dignity of his nation and remained steadfast on his mission till his last breath.
“The nation of Kashmir will never forget the role of Shaheed Maqbool Bhat and Late Amanullah Khan towards the freedom movement as both have rendered invaluable sacrifices. The contribution of Late Amanullah Khan will be written in golden words in the history of Kashmir,” he said.
Shah prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family besides strength to them to bear the irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir People’s Conference (Bilal) held a condolence meeting in the memory of late Amanullah Khan at the Party headquarters here.
In a statement to KNS, Chairman Bilal Gani Lone described the late leader as one of the greatest sons of the soil.
In his address Lone said Kashmir has lost, honest and the most upright Kashmiri political leader of present times.
Khan was a true lover of his motherland certainly a role model for all of us, he said.
Meanwhile, while expressing shock, grief and sorrow over demise of pro-freedom leader and JKLF patron, Amanullah Khan, Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman and Hurriyat leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that late leader’s services will be remembered for generations to come.
Paying rich and glowing tributes to late JKLF patron, Khan in a statement issued to KNS said that Amanullah Khan was a great warrior who fought for the rights of Kashmiri people throughout his life.
“Amanullah Khan’s demise has created a void which is hard to fulfil,” Khan said in his condolence message adding “Amanullah Khan was a polite human being, an active diplomat and a real friend of Kashmiris who had volunteered his whole life for the cause of freedom.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Amanullah Khan.
In a statement issued to KNS, KCSDS lauded the great sacrifices and unwavering commitment of the departed leader towards sacred cause of self-determination of the people of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
While expressing their deep condolences, the members prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Anjuman-e-Shari Shian president, Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi expressed grief over the sad demise of Amanullah Khan.
In a statement issued to KNS, Aga Syed termed the death of founder member of JKLF as a great loss to the ongoing Kashmir struggle.
While praying for the eternal peace for the departed soul, Aga Syed expressed hs solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, JKLF (H) Chairman, Javaid Mir expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, leader Amanullah Khan who passed away for heavenly abode on early Tuesday in Rawalpandi, Pakistan after a brief illness.
Javaid Mir described the passing away of Amanullah as a great loss to the Kashmir resistance movement.
Mir has appealed the people of Kashmir to reach historical Lal Chowk Srinagar on 27 May 1.30pm to offer Prayer in Absentia for the departed soul. 
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Liberation Party (JKDLP) chairman, Hashim Qureshi expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Amanullah Khan.
Qureshi in a tele-statement to KNS paid tributes to Amanullah Khan and said that he was a high class intellectual and noble person.
While expressing condolence to the bereaved family including his daughter, Asma Sajad and PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone who is the son in law of Amanullah. “We share their grief,” he said.  
Meanwhile, Hurriyat conference JK joint leadership felt deep condolence over the sad demise of Liberation front supreme, Amanullah Khan.
Hurriyat conference JK leader and Muslim conference chairman Shabir Ahmad Dar, International forum for justice, Chairman Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Mahzi Azadi president, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Young Mens League chairman Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Tehreek Istiqamat Chairman Gulam Nabi War expressed deep condolence over the sad demise of Liberation front supreme Amanullah Khan and expressed their solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family especially with Muhammad Yasin Malik.
In a statement issued to KNS, HCJK leaders while paying tributes to Khan said contributions offered to movement by Amanullah Khan will not be forgotten and will always remain live in our hearts.
Meanwhile, Patron JKLF (R) Barrister Ab Majid Trambu and party chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar (Bita Karete) in a joint statement issued to KNS expressed their profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Amanullah Khan.
The party activists including General Secretary, Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, Haroon Kashmiri, Aijaz Mir, Mohammad Saju and other participated in condolence meeting held at head quarter.
The two leaders said that services rendered by late Khan will be written in golden letters. (KNS)
