Jammu airport gets 3 aerobridges, taxi link

The Jammu airport Friday was facilitated with the launch of three aerobridges, taxi link and apron to provide better facilities for air passengers and planes. It was a historic day for air travellers from the Jammu airport as three aerobridges and new taxi link between the runway and apron were commissioned Friday, Jammu Airport Director D K Gautam told reporters here. He said that with the commissioning of the aerobridges, passengers will be able to board the aircraft and exit directly into the terminal building with enhanced comfort level and convenience in all-weather conditions. These aerobridges have been built at a cost of Rs 6.25 crore by the Airports Authority of India , he said. The first floor of the security hold area will be put to use and will eventually reduce the congestion in the security hold area on the ground floor as the boarding gates have increased from two to five, thus enabling boarding and de-boarding of 5 planes at a time with sufficient space for waiting
